Gaining Perspective

I sometimes find quotes to be incredibly inspiring when I'm writing and often use them in my "first runs" to help guide me.

Here are some of my most favorites...

"Above all, I am motivated by the most mysterious drive we ever experience - that of love. I don't think there's any influence on my life that compares with love." - R.Buckminster Fuller

"Myth is the secret opening through which the inexhaustible energies of the cosmos pour into human manifestation" - Joseph Campbell

"Ah, Juliet, if the measure of thy joy be heap'd like mine and that thy skill be more to blazon it, then sweeten with thy breath this neighbor air, and let rich music's tongue unfold the imagined happiness that both receive in either by this dear encounter." - Romeo, William Shakespeare

"Let no god, let no goddess, attempt to curb my will or I shall seize him and cast him into the darkest Tartarus. Then he will recognize how much mightier am I than all the other gods! Come, then, try it, o gods! And you will discover with whom you have to deal." - Zeus, Homer

"It is possible to systematize confusion thanks to a paranoia and active process of thought and so assist in discrediting completely the world of reality." - Salvador Dali

"You don't die of a broken heart, you only wish you did." - Marilyn Peterson
